LAUNCHING A FORT LAUDERDALE WATERFRONT RESTAURANT FROM ZERO TO VIRAL
THE CLIENT
Olive & Sea is a new waterfront dining destination in Fort Lauderdale. When they came to us, the doors hadn't opened, the social accounts had under 500 followers, and the launch date was weeks away.
THE CHALLENGE
A new restaurant in a city full of good ones. No established social voice. No content library. A launch date that wasn't going to move. The brief was simple to say and harder to deliver: make Olive & Sea feel like a name Fort Lauderdale already knew, starting on opening day.
WHAT WE DID
We built a full pre- and post-launch content strategy, anchored by compelling waterfront visuals and a consistent brand voice that positioned Olive & Sea as more than a restaurant. Every piece of content carried the same intention: show up as a destination.
Pre-launch, we built anticipation with teaser content, ribbon-cutting coverage, and early glimpses inside the space. Post-launch, we kept the momentum going with consistent posting, community engagement, and a visual language that felt as intentional as the restaurant itself. Our choice to engage specific South Florida foodie influencers garnered both local and state-wide coverage, and helped in quickly building the Instagram audience to over 10,000 followers in the first month.
THE RESULTS
In under 90 days:
Followers grew from under 500 to 14,000 (a 2,000% increase)
360,000+ impressions generated
34,204 accounts reached
$500 in total ad spend, driving only 7.5% of results
The remaining 92.5% came from organic strategy, content quality, and voice, not budget.
THE VIRAL MOMENT
Just days after launch, Olive & Sea's first reel went viral.
16,521 accounts reached
14,078 non-followers (85% of the audience)
251 saves
That level of virality is rare for any local restaurant. It cemented Olive & Sea's presence in the Fort Lauderdale dining scene almost overnight.
WHY IT WORKED
A strong visual identity locked in before launch day. A voice that sounded like the restaurant, not like an ad. A content strategy built around the right audience, not the widest one. And the willingness to trust organic work over paid reach.
That's the kind of start we build for every client we take on.
